Job Description
The Project Manager I at RES is an entry-level role responsible for supporting the planning, execution, and monitoring of ecological restoration projects, working with multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and in compliance with regulations, while contributing to environmental sustainability efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Support project delivery from start to finish under senior project managers' guidance
- Assist with project budgeting, scheduling, and tracking milestones
- Coordinate communication among internal teams, subcontractors, and external partners
- Maintain project documentation, manage permits, and support compliance efforts
- Evaluate and manage project risks, scope, and changes
- Participate in team meetings, review plans, and contribute to problem-solving across disciplines
- Utilize project management software to stay organized and connected
- Monitor project progress through site visits and support fieldwork
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, construction management, or related applied field
- 3 years of total experience in an applied science or construction field
- Comfort with basic budgeting, scheduling, and financial terms relevant to the project
- Experience with project scheduling, setting timelines and milestones, and using project management tools such as MS Project or Smartsheet
- Basic understanding of scope management, including how project scope is defined and controlled
- Comfort reviewing project plans, maps, and technical specifications
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $75,000 - $87,500 USD
Work schedule: Fieldwork and travel typically 15-25% depending on location and project stage
