Job Description

This role involves managing sales and building relationships with local government organizations to promote and implement Esri's geospatial technology solutions, leveraging industry knowledge and strategic account management to drive growth and customer success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build relationships and develop location strategies for large, complex organizations.
  • Identify new opportunities within high-level accounts and deepen existing relationships.
  • Present at trade shows, workshops, and seminars to demonstrate industry knowledge and GIS applications.
  • Understand customer needs, key stakeholders, and organizational decision-making processes.
  • Articulate the value of Esri technology to local government clients and support visual storytelling.
  • Manage the sales cycle proactively to meet revenue goals and evaluate work based on customer needs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and partners to develop account strategies and share knowledge.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of experience managing the sales cycle, creating partnerships, and establishing oneself as a trusted advisor with large customers.
  • Possess financial and business acumen to build compelling account growth strategies.
  • Advanced knowledge of local government and new technology trends and the ability to translate this into complex solutions for customers.
  • Understanding of GIS, Esri technology, and local government as they relate to one another.
  • Expert visual storyteller and negotiator across all levels of an organization.
  • Knowledge of industry fiscal year, budgeting, and procurement cycles.
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally 25-50%.
  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, business administration, or a related field.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. (Visa sponsorship is not available).
