Job Description

The Construction Project Manager I at RES is responsible for overseeing environmental restoration construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope and budget, while coordinating with teams, clients, and stakeholders to deliver ecological solutions that make a lasting environmental impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the delivery of environmental restoration construction projects on time, within scope, and within budget
  • Coordinate with safety teams, field crews, subcontractors, and technical teams to ensure project progress and safety standards
  • Manage project documentation, including submittals, schedules, certifications, and client communications
  • Develop and track project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports, including billing and invoicing
  • Guide projects from concept to close-out, integrating construction with design and permitting processes
  • Ensure projects are fully staffed with necessary equipment and materials
  • Communicate with clients regarding project schedules, issues, and progress

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in applied sciences, engineering, construction management, or a similar field
  • 3 years of progressive experience in a construction management role, with at least 1 year of experience in project management
  • Complete understanding of environmental restoration projects including but not limited to stream restoration, stormwater control measure installation, wetland construction, and drainage-based solutions
  • Experience working with all parties involved in construction projects, including safety teams, field and site crews, management, and accounting
  • Excellent communication skills necessary for interacting with clients, team members, and stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge of budgets and accounting, including creating budgets based on estimates, tracking and forecasting budgets, and executing monthly billing invoices
  • Ability to manage and oversee the full lifecycle of construction projects from concept to close-out, including integrating construction with design and permitting
  • Ability to ensure safety standards are met in collaboration with safety teams
  • Experience leading large teams through a variety of situations
  • Willingness to travel 2-3 days per week within a 2-4 hour commute, with some overnight stays based on project needs
  • Ability to coordinate project staffing, equipment, and materials in collaboration with superintendents and operations managers
  • Ability to prepare and manage client-required paperwork such as submittals, schedules, certifications, and participate in client progress meetings
  • Experience dealing with the financial and contractual aspects of projects, including reviewing estimates, creating and tracking budgets, forecasting, and managing project invoices
