Job Description
The Construction Project Manager I at RES oversees the planning, execution, and completion of environmental restoration construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget, while coordinating with teams, clients, and stakeholders to make a lasting ecological impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the delivery of environmental restoration construction projects on time, within scope, and within budget
- Coordinate with safety teams, field crews, subcontractors, and technical teams to ensure project progress and safety standards
- Manage project documentation, including submittals, schedules, certifications, and client communications
- Develop and track project budgets, forecast costs, and execute billing and financial paperwork
- Guide projects from concept to close-out, integrating construction with design and permitting processes
- Ensure projects are fully staffed with necessary equipment and materials
- Communicate with clients regarding project schedules, issues, and changes
- Lead and mentor construction teams and junior professionals to ensure successful project execution
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in applied sciences, engineering, construction management, or similar field
- 3 years of progressive experience in a construction management role, with at least 1 year of experience in project management
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong knowledge of budgets and accounting
- Ability to navigate through complex projects with complex clients
- Experience working with all parties involved in construction projects, including safety teams, field and site crews, management, and accounting
- Ability to manage and oversee the delivery of small to large environmental restoration construction projects on time, within scope, and within budget
- Experience with client interactions, including preparing and managing project paperwork such as submittals, schedules, certifications, and participating in progress meetings
- Ability to ensure projects are fully staffed with the necessary equipment and materials, supported by superintendents and operations managers
- Experience in dealing with the financial and contractual aspects of projects, including creating budgets based on estimates, tracking and forecasting budgets, and executing monthly billing invoices and required paperwork
- Willingness to undertake some overnight travel, with most travel consisting of 2-3 days per week within a 2-4 hour commute, and some overnight stays based on project needs
- Detailed understanding of environmental restoration projects including but not limited to stream restoration, stormwater control measure installation, wetland construction, and drainage-based solutions
- Professional certifications related to construction project management (preferred)
