A Construction Laborer at RES performs hands-on outdoor restoration tasks such as site preparation, erosion control, planting, and landscaping to help restore ecosystems and protect natural resources, working collaboratively on environmental projects across various sites.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with site preparation, landscaping, and general labor on restoration sites
Operate tools and equipment such as power tools, landscape equipment, and erosion control devices
Implement erosion and sediment control measures according to specifications
Set up and maintain traffic control systems and water dewatering systems
Perform tasks related to seeding, mulching, and matting
Conduct safety checks on tools and equipment daily
Clean and store tools and equipment at the end of each day
Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
Capable of walking over uneven surfaces, climbing on construction equipment, and navigating hills.
Comfortable working outdoors and performing tasks at ground level.
Ability to operate and maintain various tools and equipment, including power tools like drills and circular saws, and landscape equipment like chainsaws and weed eaters.
Ability to interpret and follow detailed work specifications.
A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel to job sites.
Willingness and ability to travel 2-4 nights throughout the week on key projects, with home on weekends.
Per Diem and hotel stay provided for travel.
High school diploma or GED (preferred but not mandatory).
Prior experience in landscaping, construction, farming, or outdoor labor (preferred but not mandatory).
Understanding of erosion and sediment control guidelines (preferred but not mandatory).
Basic knowledge of traffic control procedures (preferred but not mandatory).
