Job Description
This role involves designing and developing mechanical components for high-power energy storage products, collaborating with electrical and systems teams to ensure seamless integration, and performing analyses to validate performance in a fast-paced startup environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components for high-power energy conversion products, including thermal management, structural design, and packaging integration.
- Collaborate with electrical and systems engineers to ensure mechanical systems integrate seamlessly into overall system architecture.
- Perform mechanical analysis such as CFD and FEA to validate designs and ensure performance under real-world conditions.
- Select materials and components in coordination with suppliers to ensure cost-effective, high-quality solutions.
- Drive innovation and solve technical challenges related to mechanical design at a large scale.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a degree program for BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- An understanding of the relationship between high voltage electronics and the mechanical systems that support and surround them, e.g., insulation systems and thermal systems
- Proficiency in CAD software, e.g., SolidWorks
- Some basic experience in analysis tools such as CFD, FEA, etc., preferred
- Self-motivated, with the ability to manage work in a startup environment, balancing multiple priorities and deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with cross-functional team members
- Ability to perform the essential job functions safely and successfully in accordance with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
- Primarily office and lab work environment, with occasional field work that may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes, while protected by PPE, for extended periods
- Occasional travel requirements

Compensation range: $41 to $54.50 USD per hour
