Job Description

This role involves designing and developing mechanical components for high-power energy storage products, collaborating with electrical and systems teams to ensure seamless integration, and performing analyses to validate performance in a fast-paced startup environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical components for high-power energy conversion products, including thermal management, structural design, and packaging integration.
  • Collaborate with electrical and systems engineers to ensure mechanical systems integrate seamlessly into overall system architecture.
  • Perform mechanical analysis such as CFD and FEA to validate designs and ensure performance under real-world conditions.
  • Select materials and components in coordination with suppliers to ensure cost-effective, high-quality solutions.
  • Drive innovation and solve technical challenges related to mechanical design at a large scale.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program for BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • An understanding of the relationship between high voltage electronics and the mechanical systems that support and surround them, e.g., insulation systems and thermal systems
  • Proficiency in CAD software, e.g., SolidWorks
  • Some basic experience in analysis tools such as CFD, FEA, etc., preferred
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to manage work in a startup environment, balancing multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with cross-functional team members
  • Ability to perform the essential job functions safely and successfully in accordance with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
  • Primarily office and lab work environment, with occasional field work that may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes, while protected by PPE, for extended periods
  • Occasional travel requirements
