This role involves designing and developing mechanical components for high-power energy storage products, collaborating with electrical and systems teams to ensure seamless integration, and performing analyses to validate performance in a fast-paced startup environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop mechanical components for high-power energy conversion products, including thermal management, structural design, and packaging integration.
Collaborate with electrical and systems engineers to ensure mechanical systems integrate seamlessly into overall system architecture.
Perform mechanical analysis such as CFD and FEA to validate designs and ensure performance under real-world conditions.
Select materials and components in coordination with suppliers to ensure cost-effective, high-quality solutions.
Drive innovation and solve technical challenges related to mechanical design at a large scale.
Requirements
Currently enrolled in a degree program for BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
An understanding of the relationship between high voltage electronics and the mechanical systems that support and surround them, e.g., insulation systems and thermal systems
Proficiency in CAD software, e.g., SolidWorks
Some basic experience in analysis tools such as CFD, FEA, etc., preferred
Self-motivated, with the ability to manage work in a startup environment, balancing multiple priorities and deadlines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with cross-functional team members
Ability to perform the essential job functions safely and successfully in accordance with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
Primarily office and lab work environment, with occasional field work that may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes, while protected by PPE, for extended periods
