Job Description
The Test Engineering Lead at Redwood Materials is responsible for building and managing testing infrastructure and procedures for high-power electromechanical battery products, leading a team to ensure product validation and high-volume manufacturing quality in a fast-paced startup environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, develop, and support testers for product validation and high-volume manufacturing.
- Design test procedures and infrastructure for complex electromechanical products.
- Lead and manage a test engineering team to achieve project goals and timelines.
Requirements
- 7 years of technical experience in mechanical, electrical, software, or related product design engineering, not necessarily in test engineering
- Comfort with high-voltage 400-2000VDC, and 480VAC products
- Personal technical expertise in at least one aspect of test engineering, such as designing test fixtures, electrical cabinets, or software infrastructure for testers
- Experience developing tools, infrastructure, and design practices for a growing team
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with demonstrated ability to lead complex technical initiatives
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with all levels of the organization and presenting to internal and external executives
- Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
- Ability to work in challenging working conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes, while protected by PPE, for extended periods of time
- Ability to perform essential physical requirements such as climbing, standing, stooping, or typing
- Willingness to work occasional weekends, nights, or be on-call as a regular part of the job
- Willingness to undertake occasional travel as required
