Redwood Materials is seeking an Electrochemical Engineering Intern to support research, development, and production operations related to battery materials, involving laboratory testing, modeling, and scale-up activities in a sustainable energy-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support research and development, pilot projects, and commercial scale production operations in electrochemistry and related disciplines
Conduct laboratory experiments, including handling hazardous materials and operating power supplies
Perform model-driven development and data analysis to facilitate rapid scale-up of processes
Requirements
Pursuing a B.S. or advanced degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, materials science, electrochemistry, or another discipline with significant relevant coursework.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent computer proficiency including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
Able to operate independently, conducting experiments in a wet chemistry lab that include hazardous materials and power supplies.
Comfortable with spreadsheet-based analysis and modeling.
Self-motivated, hands-on mindset, with a willingness to contribute at all levels.
Ability to perform essential job functions in compliance with ADA, FMLA, and other relevant federal, state, and local regulations, including meeting both qualitative and quantitative productivity standards.
Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance in line with ADA, FMLA, and applicable standards.
Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety gloves, helmets, and eyewear, or additional PPE when required.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively on the telephone, including listening and speaking.
