The Engineering Manager will lead the engineering team in designing, evaluating, and overseeing the development of solar and energy storage projects, ensuring technical excellence and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the engineering team in developing and executing solar and storage projects.
Perform technical evaluations including site analysis, interconnection studies, and equipment selection.
Create permit and construction drawings that meet codes and standards.
Coordinate with third-party engineers and manage procurement and construction documentation.
Supervise system installation, conduct inspections, and oversee commissioning processes.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering Mechanical, Electrical, Civil
7 years of experience in engineering in the renewables industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership management role
Expertise in solar plant equipment, including PV modules, racking systems, inverters and electrical balance of plants
Experience analyzing site parameters, interconnection studies, and customer loads to determine optimal system sizing and configuration
Experience conducting shading analysis, structural assessments, and electrical reviews to inform equipment selection and layout
Proficiency with PVsyst, System Advisory Model (SAM) programs, AutoCAD, PVcase, ArcGIS, Helioscope, and Aurora Solar (experience with these tools is a plus)
Ability to review civil, structural, or electrical engineering design packages for compliance with technical specifications
Experience managing third-party due diligence studies and energy production estimates
Ability to multi-task and manage deliverables for multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management, and problem-solving skills
Travel required up to 20%
Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future
