A leadership role overseeing a team of Systems Engineers focused on pre-sales technical support and solutions for enterprise storage, cloud, and AI-driven data management, with responsibilities including technical guidance, customer engagement, sales strategy, and team development.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and mentor the Public Sector Systems Engineering team to drive performance and growth.
Manage technical partnerships with large System Integrators to support joint sales efforts.
Develop and execute an annual operating plan to achieve business outcomes.
Guide account team activities to increase deal success rates.
Understand customer business drivers and connect technology solutions to customer outcomes.
Collaborate with account managers, specialists, and partners to create a seamless customer experience and drive revenue.
Present technical product and architecture solutions to customers to secure technical wins.
Translate customer business needs into innovative storage solutions.
Respond to RFI, RFP, and RFQ requests with technical proposals.
Identify and pursue new opportunities for interoperability, testing, and validation.
Stay current with competitive landscape and promote thought leadership.
Lead by example, embodying company values of persistence, creativity, teamwork, ownership, and customer focus.
Requirements
Proven track record of leading a public sector-focused Systems Engineering team for over 3 years and driving revenue growth.
Experience in both pre-sales and partner enablement is required.
Experience supporting the sales of enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software to enterprise accounts preferred.
Deep understanding of the architecture, design and implementation of multi-tiered client server and web-based computing solutions.
Prior experience in targeting new prospects and converting them into clients.
Contribute significant portions and/or lead responses to RFPs, RFQs and RFIs.
Must have a familiarity with modern web architecture such as the LAMP stack, scale-out vs scale-up architectures, AWS well-architected framework, microservices architecture (plus if applicable).
Superior knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures including FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN, Linux, NFS file systems, and Linux distributed network environment.
Strong knowledge of digital transformation to a Cloud Native architecture, On-Premises, Public Cloud, Provisioning Automation, and Containers (plus if applicable).
Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP (plus if applicable).
Client-facing experience in proposing AI/ML solutions (plus if applicable).
Experience with installation and configuration of distributed computing, multiprocessing, virtual memory subsystem, storage subsystems architecture, shared memory architectures, cache architectures, windowing systems.
Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills.
BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or other technical degree and/or equivalent experience.
