Job Description
A Technical Design Architect responsible for providing technical consultation, designing storage and data migration solutions, and supporting pre-sales and post-sales activities in the data storage industry, with a focus on enterprise storage, cloud integration, and complex project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical consultation and support to customers and sales teams for storage solutions, including pre-sales and post-sales implementation.
- Design and deliver technical solutions related to storage, replication, clustering, data migrations, and cloud integrations.
- Participate in customer evaluations, proof of concepts, and support sales efforts with technical expertise.
- Develop scripts to automate storage operations, replication, clustering, and data migration processes.
- Evaluate partner proposals for migration services to ensure quality and value.
- Travel to customer sites for solution implementation, evaluation, and support.
- Contribute to data migration solutions for RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
Requirements
- 10 years of overall technical experience across Japan
- 5-8 years of experience as a SME solutions architect including 2 years of team leading position
- 3 years of customer facing experience with the technical matters
- Experience in enterprise IT infrastructure operations or infrastructure environment automation efficiency operations
- Well understanding of Enterprise Storage protocols
- Understanding and practical experience with major cloud solutions such as Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure
- Experience with data center migration and platform integration
- Understanding of fundamental networking concepts, virtualization solutions, and operating systems
- Experience with disaster recovery (DR), cybersecurity, and container technologies
- Experience with scripting languages such as Perl, PowerShell, Python and operational implementation using REST API
- Experience with monitoring design using monitoring tools, IAM experience, and authentication management experience with Active Directory (AD)
- Possession of certifications such as ITIL, PMP, vendor-specific storage certifications, SNIA certification programs, and CompTIA Storage
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience; a Graduate Degree is preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of clearly communicating complex technical information to a non-technical audience
- Ability to actively listen and understand customer expectations and information
- Strong desire for learning new technologies and willingness to share knowledge with others
- Creative problem-solving skills and strong analytical capabilities
- Ability to manage external and internal stakeholders and report on project progress
- Proactive and autonomous mindset, logical and rational thinking process
- Strong team player with a professional demeanor, proactive in offering opinions and clarifying ambiguities in meetings
- Project management and multitasking skills
- Business-level English proficiency, with ability to read and write, and a strong desire for improvement
