Job Description
The Senior SSD Firmware Architect will lead the design and development of high-performance firmware for next-generation DirectFlash SSD modules, focusing on hardware-software integration, system performance, and compliance with industry standards to redefine data storage solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and drive the firmware architecture for next-generation DirectFlash SSD modules, including subsystem design, firmware modularization, and system integration.
- Collaborate with controller vendors and hardware teams to bring up new SSD controller SoCs and enable features such as PCIe, NAND interfaces, power-loss protection, and telemetry.
- Develop firmware components supporting NVMe and OCP SSD specifications, ensuring compliance, performance, and interoperability.
- Debug complex cross-layer issues involving firmware, controller hardware, NAND media, and host systems.
- Improve SSD data path performance and latency through firmware design and analysis.
Requirements
- Extensive experience developing SSD firmware for enterprise or hyperscale systems, with strong knowledge of SSD architecture and controller design.
- Solid understanding of NVMe and OCP SSD specifications.
- Strong background in embedded firmware development and hardware software interaction.
- Proficiency in C and C++, with experience using Python or other scripting languages for testing and automation.
- Hands-on experience with storage controller SoCs, including PCIe, DMA engines, NAND interfaces, and hardware bring-up.
- Experience designing firmware architectures and debugging complex firmware and hardware issues.
