The Senior Manager of Product Management for Data Protection leads the strategic planning, development, and execution of data resilience solutions, overseeing a team to ensure enterprise data remains secure and recoverable against cyber threats, while collaborating across engineering, sales, and marketing teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the strategic direction and operational execution of the Data Protection portfolio, focusing on security features, automated recovery, and cloud-native integrations.
Manage the entire product lifecycle from ideation to scaling, establishing KPIs such as RTO, RPO, and product adoption.
Manage, mentor, and develop a team of product managers to achieve organizational goals.
Collaborate with Sales, Field Enablement, and Marketing to develop competitive positioning and ensure field readiness.
Translate evolving cyber threats and compliance requirements into actionable product priorities and long-term strategies.
Requirements
Advanced technical understanding of backup architecture, enterprise storage, disaster recovery, and data security standards, combined with the ability to translate organizational objectives into successful product strategies.
Proven ability to manage, coach, and develop professional technical employees, direct the activities of multiple sections or departments, and make data-informed trade-offs regarding costs and staffing.
Exceptional communication skills with a track record of regularly interacting with senior management and executive levels to gain acceptance in sensitive situations.
Strong analytical abilities used to evaluate market trends and translate customer workflows into precise, outcome-oriented technical requirements.
Ability to establish and execute operational objectives for the Data Protection portfolio, prioritizing high-impact security features, automated recovery, and cloud-native integrations.
Experience in leading the complete product lifecycle from ideation to scale across multiple teams, establishing clear KPIs for recovery time objectives (RTO), recovery point objectives (RPO), and product adoption.
Experience managing a team of product managers, providing direction, clear development goals, and evaluation criteria to drive organizational outcomes.
Ability to partner closely with Sales, Field Enablement, and Marketing to develop competitive positioning and ensure global field organizations are fully equipped to showcase security differentiation.
Location requirement to work primarily in the Santa Clara, CA office in compliance with company policies, unless on PTO, work travel, or other approved leave.
