Job Description
This role involves developing and maintaining software tools that support hardware design, validation, and manufacturing of SSD platforms, requiring a blend of hardware understanding and software development skills in a collaborative, innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and maintain internal software repositories
- Manage the lifecycle of software projects used for hardware validation, debug, and manufacturing
- Develop hardware-facing tools and utilities
- Write and optimize scripts to interact with SSD hardware, automate testing, and parse telemetry data
- Refactor legacy code and implement modern software practices such as CI/CD, code review, and documentation
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
- Proficiency in Python for scripting automation and C/C++ for low-level interaction, with a solid understanding of data structures and algorithms
- Experience with git, code reviews, and maintaining clean, documented codebases following software development best practices
- Ability to read schematics, understand block diagrams, and comfortably navigate a hardware lab environment
- Comfort working in a Linux environment, including shell scripting (Bash) and basic kernel driver familiarity
- Experience managing the lifecycle of small-to-medium software projects used for hardware validation, debug, and manufacturing
- Ability to develop hardware-facing tools, write and optimize scripts and utilities to interact with SSD hardware, automate testing, and parse telemetry data
- Ability to refactor legacy code and implement modern software practices such as CI/CD, code review, and documentation within the hardware team
- Ability to read and understand hardware schematics and block diagrams
- Ability to work from the Santa Clara office in compliance with company policies
