The role involves designing and maintaining Tableau dashboards and data models using Snowflake SQL to support strategic decision-making in monetization, while leveraging AI and automation to enhance analytics capabilities and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Own and manage the Tableau environment, including content structure, governance, performance tuning, and best practices.
Design, build, and maintain end-to-end Tableau dashboards based on business requirements.
Develop data models and calculations in Snowflake SQL to support analytics and visualization.
Create and optimize data views, derived tables, and reusable data sources in Snowflake for self-service analytics.
Write high-quality SQL to join large datasets, troubleshoot data issues, and improve query performance.
Implement and maintain data quality checks for dashboards, ensuring data accuracy and freshness.
Standardize and document BI assets, including data definitions, business logic, and dashboard usage guidelines.
Apply Tableau best practices in visual design, UX, and storytelling to enhance stakeholder understanding and adoption.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on data definitions and ensure dashboards support strategic decisions.
Explore and prototype AI-powered analytics solutions, translating promising ideas into production workflows.
Leverage Python for automating data preparation, integrating external data sources, and supporting advanced analytics.
Act as a senior individual contributor, leading projects independently and providing technical guidance to team members.
Requirements
5 years of hands-on experience with Tableau where you were directly responsible for building dashboards from understanding the business problem and shaping the data, through to visualization, launch, and iteration.
Expert level Tableau skills, including Complex calculations (LOD, table calculations, parameters), Row level security, data source design, and published data models.
Performance tuning extract vs. live, query optimization, and efficient workbook design.
Strong Snowflake SQL skills, including understanding existing schemas and views for analytics, writing performant and readable SQL against large datasets, debugging joins, filters, and aggregation issues, and optimizing queries for cost and speed.
Solid data modeling and BI foundations, including KPI design and an opinionated view on what good looks like for analytical data.
High interest in AI and automation, with active followership of developments in analytics AI, and willingness to experiment with new tools and workflows.
Working knowledge of Python or a strong willingness to learn Python for data preparation, automation, and integration with analytics AI tooling.
Proven stakeholder partnership skills, including translating ambiguous business questions into structured analytical problems, explaining trade-offs, and communicating insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Bias for ownership and action, with comfort in making progress with incomplete information, escalating risks early, working independently, and taking initiative to see work through from idea to production adoption.
Attention to detail and quality, with a focus on data accuracy, consistent definitions, and polished user experiences in dashboards.
