Key Responsibilities
Understand customer business needs and tailor storage solutions accordingly
Collaborate with sales teams and partners to drive revenue and create a seamless customer experience
Present technical product and architecture solutions to customers to secure technical wins
Translate customer requirements into innovative storage solutions and respond to RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs
Conduct evaluations, benchmarks, and system configurations of storage products
Stay current with industry trends, competitive landscape, and product positioning
Support technical marketing efforts through materials like whitepapers and web presentations
Lead technical discussions on storage architectures, distributed systems, and networking
Identify and develop new opportunities for interoperability, testing, and validation
Maintain expertise in storage technologies, architectures, and cloud integration to support pre-sales activities
Requirements
Pre-sales experience is required with 5 or more years of relevant experience in technology, design, and communications.
Deep understanding of the architecture, design, and implementation of multi-tiered client-server and web-based computing solutions.
Experience supporting the sales of enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software to enterprise accounts.
Contribute significant portions and/or lead responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
Superior knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures including FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN, Linux, NFS file systems, and Linux distributed network environment.
Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP cloud platforms is a plus.
Familiarity with containers, Kubernetes (k8s), and microservices architectures is a plus.
Strong knowledge of digital transformation to Cloud Native architecture, On-Premises, Public Cloud, Provisioning Automation, and Containers.
Knowledge of VMware, Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general networking.
Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills.
BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or other technical degree, or equivalent experience.
Must have a familiarity with modern web architecture such as LAMP stack, scale-out vs scale-up architectures, AWS well-architected framework, microservices architecture.
Curiosity and passion around technology, with the ability to explain and demonstrate new technology platforms and concepts to customers.
Familiarity with storage-intensive applications and their requirements, such as structured databases like SQL and Oracle, is highly desirable.
Ability to work primarily in an in-office environment at the Tokyo office in compliance with company policies.
Experience in government procurement processes including RFx, RFI, RFP, specs support, compliance matrices, QA, bid presentations, and evaluation support is a plus.
Partner ecosystem collaboration experience with SI partners, cloud providers, and ISVs, with the ability to align technical architectures with commercial motions is required.
