The role involves acting as a technical expert in pre-sales activities for data storage solutions, understanding customer needs, designing tailored technical solutions, supporting sales strategies, and demonstrating the value of Pure Storage products to drive revenue and customer success.
Key Responsibilities
Understand customer business needs and tailor storage solutions accordingly
Collaborate with sales and technical teams to drive revenue and customer success
Lead technical evaluations, benchmarks, and system configurations
Create and deliver technical presentations and responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs
Identify and develop new opportunities for interoperability and testing validation
Stay current with industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging storage architectures
Support technical marketing materials and thought leadership content
Requirements
Minimum of 5 or more years of relevant pre-sales experience in technology, design, and communications.
Strong public sector domain knowledge across central ministries, agencies, municipalities, and education healthcare sectors, including understanding of decision processes and constraints.
Experience supporting the sales of enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software to enterprise accounts.
Deep understanding of the architecture, design, and implementation of multi-tiered client-server and web-based computing solutions.
Prior experience in targeting new prospects and converting them into clients.
Contribute significant portions and/or lead responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
Superior knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures including FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN, Linux, NFS file systems, and Linux distributed network environment.
Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP cloud platforms (preferred).
Experience with installation and configuration of distributed computing, multiprocessing, virtual memory subsystems, storage subsystems architecture, shared memory architectures, cache architectures, and windowing systems.
Familiarity with containers, Kubernetes (k8s), and microservices architectures (preferred).
Strong knowledge of digital transformation to Cloud Native architecture, On-Premises, Public Cloud, Provisioning Automation, and Containers.
Knowledge of VMware, Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general networking concepts.
Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or other technical field, or equivalent experience.
Familiarity with modern web architecture, including LAMP stack, scale-out vs scale-up architectures, AWS Well-Architected Framework, and microservices architecture (preferred).
Curiosity and passion for technology, with the ability to explain and demonstrate new technology platforms and concepts to customers.
Willingness to work primarily in-office at the Tokyo location in compliance with company policies.
Experience supporting storage-intensive applications and their requirements, such as structured databases like SQL and Oracle (highly desirable).
