The role involves acting as a technical expert in pre-sales activities for Pure Storage, developing tailored storage solutions for customers, supporting sales strategies, and demonstrating the value of storage products and architectures to drive revenue and customer success.
Key Responsibilities
Understand customer business needs and tailor storage solutions accordingly
Collaborate with sales, partners, and technical teams to drive revenue and customer success
Present and demonstrate storage products and architectures to clients
Capture customer requirements and develop innovative technical solutions
Respond to RFI, RFP, and RFQ documentation and support proposal development
Evaluate and benchmark storage systems, configurations, and interoperability
Stay current with industry trends, competitors, and emerging storage technologies
Create technical marketing materials and thought leadership content
Support technical testing, validation, and proof-of-concept activities
Liaise with product teams to provide feedback and influence product roadmap
Requirements
Minimum of 5 or more years of relevant pre-sales experience supporting the sales of enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software to enterprise accounts.
Strong understanding of the architecture, design, and implementation of multi-tiered client-server and web-based computing solutions.
Experience supporting the sales process by contributing significantly to or leading responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
Superior knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures including FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN, Linux, NFS file systems, and Linux distributed network environment.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP is a plus.
Experience in installing and configuring distributed computing, multiprocessing, virtual memory subsystems, storage subsystems architecture, shared memory architectures, cache architectures, and windowing systems.
Familiarity with containers, Kubernetes (k8s), and microservices architectures is a plus.
Strong knowledge of digital transformation to Cloud Native architecture, On-Premises, Public Cloud, Provisioning Automation, and Containers.
Knowledge of VMware, Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general networking concepts.
Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
Must have familiarity with modern web architecture, including LAMP stack, scale-out vs scale-up architectures, AWS well-architected framework, and microservices architecture.
Demonstrated ability to understand customer business needs and translate them into innovative technical solutions.
Ability to develop technical product and architecture presentations and deliver them effectively to customers.
Experience in supporting government procurement processes including RFx, RFI, RFP, specifications support, compliance matrices, QA, bid presentations, and evaluation support is a plus.
Partner ecosystem collaboration experience with SI partners, cloud providers, and ISVs, with the ability to align technical architectures with commercial strategies.
Familiarity with storage-intensive applications and their requirements, such as structured databases like SQL and Oracle, is highly desirable.
Willingness to work primarily in an in-office environment at the Tokyo office in accordance with company policies.
