A Senior Pre-Sales Systems Engineer at Pure Storage is responsible for understanding customer needs, demonstrating technical solutions, and collaborating with sales teams to drive revenue growth in the data storage industry through tailored storage architectures and innovative technology presentations.
Key Responsibilities
Understand customer business needs and tailor storage solutions accordingly
Collaborate with sales teams and partners to drive revenue and create a seamless customer experience
Present and demonstrate technical product and architecture solutions to customers
Capture customer requirements and develop innovative technical solutions
Respond to RFI, RFP, and RFQ documentation with technical expertise
Identify and pursue new opportunities for interoperability, testing, and validation
Create technical marketing materials and stay current with industry trends and competitors
Lead technical evaluations, benchmarks, and system configurations
Support digital transformation initiatives and cloud-native architecture adoption
Requirements
5 or more years of relevant experience in technology, design, and communications.
Pre-sales experience is required.
Deep understanding of the architecture, design, and implementation of multi-tiered client-server and web-based computing solutions.
Experience supporting the sales of enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software to enterprise accounts.
Contribute significant portions and/or lead responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
Superior knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures including FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN, Linux, NFS file systems, and Linux distributed network environment.
Familiarity with containers, Kubernetes (k8s), and microservices architectures is a plus.
Strong knowledge of digital transformation to Cloud Native architecture, On-Prem, Public Cloud, Provisioning Automation, and Containers.
Knowledge of VMware, Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general networking.
Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills.
BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or other technical degree, or equivalent experience.
Familiarity with modern web architecture such as LAMP stack, scale-out vs scale-up architectures, AWS well-architected framework, microservices architecture.
Curiosity and passion around technology and explaining/showing new technology platforms and concepts to customers.
Ability to work from the OFFICE_LOCATION office in compliance with company policies, unless on PTO, work travel, or other approved leave.
