Job Description
This role involves leading and evolving the Security Operations function focused on Attack Surface Management, integrating discovery, detection, secrets monitoring, and posture governance to provide real-time risk insights and reduce exposures across hybrid environments through automation and strategic leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and evolve the Security Operations SecOps function for Attack Surface Management (ASM), integrating discovery, detection, secrets monitoring, and posture governance.
- Build, lead, and grow a team responsible for asset inventory, secrets hygiene, and vulnerability context.
- Operate and tune the ASM stack including tools like runZero, Tenable, Obsidian, CrowdStrike, and Zscaler.
- Integrate ASM data into detection pipelines and security tools for real-time telemetry and automated response.
- Partner with incident response, GRC, IAM, and SaaS owners to embed security and improve posture.
- Monitor and enforce Zero Trust access controls and user behavior policies.
- Maintain asset lifecycle governance, including tagging, ownership mapping, TLS hygiene, and segmentation.
- Develop KPIs and dashboards to measure posture reduction and asset control coverage.
- Participate in security assessments, tabletop scenarios, and red team reviews to improve security posture.
Requirements
- Ten years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 5 years in technical leadership or people management roles.
- Demonstrated experience leading high-performing teams across security engineering, posture, and operations.
- Deep expertise operating a security stack including EDR (e.g., CrowdStrike), Vulnerability Management (e.g., Tenable.io), Asset Discovery (e.g., runZero), SSPM (e.g., Obsidian), Security SIEM (e.g., Splunk), SOAR (e.g., Cortex XSOAR, Tines), Zero Trust DLP, and CASB (e.g., Zscaler ZIA, ZDX).
- Hands-on experience remediating risks across Linux, Windows, macOS, and cloud-native platforms including AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
- Familiarity with frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK, CIS Top 18, NIST 800-53, and mapping posture to controls.
- Experience driving accountability across Infrastructure, Cloud, Product Security, IAM, GRC, and Incident Response teams.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate security telemetry into insights for both executive and engineering audiences.
- Work from the Santa Clara, CA office in compliance with company policies, unless on PTO, travel, or approved leave.
