Job Description
A Senior Pre-Sales Systems Engineer at Pure Storage is responsible for understanding customer needs, demonstrating technical solutions, and supporting sales efforts in the data storage industry, with a focus on storage architectures, cloud integration, and innovative technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand customer business needs and tailor storage solutions accordingly
- Collaborate with sales and technical teams to create a seamless customer experience
- Present and demonstrate storage products and architectures to customers
- Translate customer requirements into innovative technical solutions
- Identify and pursue new opportunities for interoperability, testing, and validation
- Support the creation of technical marketing materials and competitive positioning
- Stay current with industry trends, competitors, and emerging storage architectures
- Support the sales process through technical evaluations, benchmarks, and configurations
Requirements
- Pre-sales experience of 5 or more years supporting the sales of enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software to enterprise accounts.
- Deep understanding of the architecture, design, and implementation of multi-tiered client-server and web-based computing solutions.
- Familiarity with modern web architecture such as the LAMP stack, scale-out vs scale-up architectures, AWS well-architected framework, and microservices architecture is a plus.
- Experience supporting the sales of enterprise storage solutions, including knowledge of FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, and SAN storage architectures.
- Prior experience in targeting new prospects and converting them into clients.
- Ability to contribute significantly to or lead responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
- Experience with Linux, NFS file systems, and Linux distributed network environments.
- Knowledge of installation and configuration of distributed computing, multiprocessing, virtual memory subsystems, storage subsystems architecture, shared memory architectures, cache architectures, and windowing systems.
- Strong knowledge of digital transformation to Cloud Native architecture, On-Premises, Public Cloud, Provisioning Automation, and Containers.
- Familiarity with VMware, Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general networking concepts.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, and familiarity with containers, Kubernetes (k8s), and microservices architectures is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills.
- Must have pre-sales experience supporting enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software solutions.
- Understanding of the architecture, design, and implementation of multi-tiered client-server and web-based solutions.
- Experience with storage solutions including FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN, and storage-intensive applications such as structured databases (SQL, Oracle).
