A Senior Pre-Sales Systems Engineer at Pure Storage is responsible for understanding customer needs, demonstrating technical solutions, and supporting sales efforts in the data storage industry, with a focus on storage architectures, cloud integration, and innovative technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Understand customer business needs and tailor storage solutions accordingly
Collaborate with sales teams and partners to drive revenue and customer success
Lead technical evaluations, benchmarks, and system configurations
Create and deliver technical presentations to demonstrate product value
Translate customer requirements into innovative storage solutions
Identify and pursue new opportunities for interoperability and testing
Develop technical marketing materials and stay current with industry trends
Support the sales process through RFP/RFI responses and technical expertise
Requirements
Pre-sales experience of 5 or more years supporting the sales of enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software to enterprise accounts.
Deep understanding of the architecture, design, and implementation of multi-tiered client-server and web-based computing solutions.
Must have a familiarity with modern web architecture such as the LAMP stack, scale-out vs scale-up architectures, AWS well-architected framework, and microservices architecture.
Experience supporting the sales of enterprise storage solutions and contributing significant portions or leading responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
Superior knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures including FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, and SAN.
Previous experience with Linux, NFS file systems, and Linux distributed network environment.
Experience with installation and configuration of distributed computing, multiprocessing, virtual memory subsystem, storage subsystems architecture, shared memory architectures, cache architectures, and windowing systems.
Strong knowledge of digital transformation to Cloud Native architecture, On-Prem, Public Cloud, Provisioning Automation, and Containers.
Knowledge of VMware, Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general networking concepts.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, containers, Kubernetes (k8s), and microservices architectures.
Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills.
