Job Description
A Senior Pre-Sales Systems Engineer at Pure Storage is responsible for understanding customer needs, designing tailored storage solutions, and supporting the sales process through technical expertise, demonstrations, and strategic engagement to drive revenue and promote innovative data storage technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand customer business needs and tailor storage solutions accordingly
- Collaborate with sales team, account managers, and partners to drive revenue and customer success
- Provide technical leadership and expertise on storage products and architectures
- Conduct evaluations, benchmarks, and system configurations for storage solutions
- Create and deliver technical presentations to clients to secure technical wins
- Translate customer requirements into innovative storage solutions to support growth
- Identify and pursue new opportunities for interoperability, testing, and validation
- Develop technical marketing materials and stay current with industry trends and competitors
Requirements
- Pre-sales experience of 5 or more years supporting the sales of enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software to enterprise accounts.
- Deep understanding of the architecture, design, and implementation of multi-tiered client-server and web-based computing solutions.
- Must have a familiarity with modern web architecture such as the LAMP stack, scale-out vs scale-up architectures, AWS well-architected framework, and microservices architecture.
- Experience supporting the sales of enterprise storage solutions, including knowledge of FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN storage architectures.
- Previous experience with Linux, NFS file systems, and Linux distributed network environment.
- Experience in supporting evaluations, benchmarks, and system configurations related to storage and computing solutions.
- Strong knowledge of digital transformation to Cloud Native architecture, On-Premises, Public Cloud, Provisioning Automation, and Containers.
- Familiarity with VMware, Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general networking concepts.
- Experience with targeting new prospects and converting them into clients, including contributing to or leading responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
- Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop and deliver technical product and architecture presentations to customers.
- Ability to capture customer requirements and translate them into innovative solutions to accelerate growth and capacity.
- Strong understanding of storage-intensive applications and their requirements, such as structured databases like SQL and Oracle.
- Knowledge of modern cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes (k8s) is a plus.
- Familiarity with storage architectures supporting distributed storage, file systems, and competitive storage offerings in DAS, NAS, and SAN spaces.
- Strong technical leadership and domain expertise in storage products, distributed storage architectures, file systems, and competitive storage offerings.
- Ability to stay current with the competition and market trends to promote thought leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute significantly or lead responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
- Physical and technical ability to support evaluations, benchmarks, system configurations, and technical presentations.
