Job Description
A Senior Pre-Sales Systems Engineer at Pure Storage is responsible for understanding customer needs, designing tailored storage solutions, and supporting sales efforts through technical expertise, presentations, and demonstrations in the data storage and cloud infrastructure space.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand customer business needs and tailor storage solutions accordingly
- Collaborate with sales teams and partners to drive revenue and customer success
- Present technical product and architecture solutions to customers to secure technical wins
- Translate customer requirements into innovative storage solutions
- Conduct evaluations, benchmarks, and system configurations for storage products
- Identify and develop new opportunities for interoperability and performance testing
- Create technical materials such as whitepapers and presentations to support sales and marketing
- Stay current with industry trends, competition, and emerging storage architectures
Requirements
- Pre-sales experience of 5 or more years supporting the sales of enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software to enterprise accounts.
- Deep understanding of the architecture, design, and implementation of multi-tiered client-server and web-based computing solutions.
- Must have a familiarity with modern web architecture such as the LAMP stack, scale-out vs scale-up architectures, AWS well-architected framework, microservices architecture (preferred).
- Experience supporting the sales of enterprise storage solutions, including storage architectures such as FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN.
- Previous experience with Linux, NFS file systems, and Linux distributed network environment.
- Experience with installation and configuration of distributed computing, multiprocessing, virtual memory subsystem, storage subsystems architecture, shared memory architectures, cache architectures, and windowing systems.
- Strong knowledge of digital transformation to a Cloud Native architecture, including On-Premises, Public Cloud, Provisioning Automation, and Containers.
- Knowledge of VMware, Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general networking concepts.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, containers, Kubernetes (k8s), and microservices architectures (preferred).
- Contribute significantly or lead responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
- Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills.
- Ability to support the sales of enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software solutions to enterprise accounts.
- Understanding of storage-intensive applications and their requirements, such as structured databases like SQL and Oracle (highly desirable).
