Job Description
This role involves designing and developing high-performance networking and storage system software, collaborating with hardware teams, and leading complex technical initiatives to enhance enterprise data storage platforms with a focus on scalability, reliability, and seamless customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and deliver core software for high-availability storage platforms
- Develop mission-critical system components to ensure seamless hardware-software integration
- Design and debug high-performance networking software for scalability and resiliency
- Implement Layer 2 and Layer 3 network protocols and features
- Collaborate with ASIC vendors and internal teams to develop switch SDK functionalities and perform in-service software upgrades
- Design and customize disaggregated network operating system solutions using SONiC
- Mentor and lead technical initiatives to maintain code quality and architectural standards
Requirements
- Advanced proficiency in C, C++ (including C++11) with a track record of building and debugging performance-sensitive systems software or networking applications.
- Mastery of Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols including Ethernet, VLANs, BGP, and ECMP, with the ability to translate these complex behaviors into production-ready code.
- Practical experience working with switch SDKs or Linux networking internals, kernel concepts, drivers, or packet processing to interact directly with ASIC capabilities.
- Understanding of non-disruptive upgrade (NDU) technologies and the architectural discipline required to build systems that minimize customer impact during maintenance.
- Ability to independently drive complex problem-solving and influence technical direction across multiple teams while mentoring junior engineers.
- Willingness to work in an in-office environment at the Santa Clara, CA office in compliance with company policies.
