The role involves designing, developing, and testing system software for hardware platforms, focusing on areas such as platform drivers, networking, storage, security features, and hardware-software integration within a data center environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and test system software for new hardware platforms
Plan and influence the lifecycle of hardware platforms from early bring-up to manufacturing release
Debug complex hardware and firmware issues across various components and protocols
Design and implement remote server management features and enhance reliability, availability, and serviceability (RAS) capabilities
Develop and implement low-level security features such as Secure Boot, hardware Root of Trust, and TPM 2.0
Collaborate with hardware vendors and cross-functional teams to ensure hardware-software integration
Maintain and write software components in languages like C, Python, Golang, and RUST
