Job Description
The Senior Manager of Finance Reporting Strategy leads the development and execution of enterprise-wide financial reporting, focusing on architecture, data governance, automation, and stakeholder collaboration to ensure accurate, scalable, and compliant reporting across multiple platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the enterprise finance reporting strategy, roadmap, and architecture standards.
- Design and oversee the technical data models, semantic layers, and integration standards for financial data across systems.
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of finance reporting products, including requirements gathering, development, and support.
- Establish data quality SLAs, lead root cause analysis for reporting issues, and ensure compliance with SOX and audit standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate analytical needs into scalable reporting solutions and support change management initiatives.
Requirements
- 10 years in Finance Reporting, Data Analytics, or Finance Systems, with hands-on architectural and technical experience.
- Deep knowledge of ERP reporting, with SAP preferred.
- Experience with data warehousing, financial data models, and BI analytics platforms.
- Strong SQL and data modeling skills, with familiarity with Snowflake, dbt, ELT pipelines, and semantic layer design.
- Experience implementing reporting in multi-system environments including ERP, EPM, and BI tools.
- Strong understanding of financial processes such as Record-to-Report, FP&A, Revenue, etc.
- Ability to develop and maintain a 2-3 year reporting roadmap aligned with financial close, controllership, FP&A, and business transformation initiatives.
- Experience defining reporting standards, certification rules, metric definitions, and golden data consumption models.
- Partnering with Data Engineering to design reporting data models, semantic layers, and reusable data products in Snowflake or equivalent cloud warehouse.
- Defining integration standards for financial data flows between SAP S4, EPM (e.g., SAC, Anaplan), and BI tools (Tableau, PowerBI).
- Leading the development of KPI frameworks, calculation logic, dimensional models, data lineage, metadata, and reconciliation rules.
- Ensuring reporting aligns with SOX, audit, and compliance requirements.
- Owning the end-to-end lifecycle of finance reporting products from requirements and design through delivery and support.
- Driving automation and reducing manual Excel-based reporting through modern engineering practices such as ELT, dbt, CI/CD, and governed self-service.
- Establishing data quality SLAs and leading root cause analysis for reporting inconsistencies.
- Chairing reporting and metric governance forums to ensure consistency, standardization, and one version of the truth.
- Maintaining a governed, documented, and auditable metrics catalog and data dictionary.
- Partnering with Controllership, FP&A, Revenue, and CFO leadership to understand analytical needs and translate them into scalable reporting solutions.
- Supporting change management, training, and adoption plans for new reporting processes.
- Ability to work in an in-office environment at the Santa Clara, CA office in compliance with company policies.
