Job Description
This role involves providing strategic HR partnership, data analytics, and performance coaching to support organizational effectiveness and talent management at the Japan site of a global tech company, with a focus on driving business strategies and fostering a high-performance culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as HR Business Partner for the Japan site, partnering with leadership to drive business strategy.
- Provide strategic and coaching support to managers on performance management and employee development.
- Design and deliver data-driven insights through dashboards and analytics to inform workforce planning and HR programs.
- Lead cross-functional projects using data analytics to influence stakeholders and improve organizational outcomes.
- Develop and implement scalable HR programs, policies, and process improvements.
- Diagnose team dynamics, identify talent gaps, and drive organizational effectiveness initiatives.
- Advise leaders on workforce strategies, change management, and employee engagement.
- Identify organizational problems and develop solutions to enhance organizational effectiveness.
Requirements
- Fluency in Reading, conversing, and writing in Japanese is a must.
- Bachelor's degree plus 12 years of experience in an HR Business Partner environment, or Master's degree plus 8 years of experience in an HR Business Partner environment, with direct client support and management mentoring experience.
- Experience in multiple industries in the HR or HRBP area, including both tech and non-tech industries.
- Experience with performance management work, coaching managers on effective performance management.
- Proven track record of navigating organizational complexity and building strong partnerships with stakeholders to influence decisions, actions, and produce results.
- A business first mindset of understanding Pure’s Go-to-Market Strategy and applying HR and People solutions and outcomes accordingly.
- Ability to toggle across strategic and operational activities, balancing day-to-day work activities across an array of client groups while providing value-added business partnership.
- Progressive HRBP growth, with previous experience in Manager or Senior Manager level positions preferred.
- Demonstrated competence in various HR functional areas including organizational design, business intelligence, HR acumen, and coaching.
- Ability to lead change management and organizational initiatives.
- Excellent social and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Thrives in an unstructured environment and helps others do the same.
- Prior experience supporting leaders in a technology company is preferred.
- Good understanding of workforce data technology, common employee experience platforms, and analytics tools and platforms.
- Ability to work primarily in an office environment at the Tokyo office in compliance with company policies, unless on PTO, work travel, or other approved leave.
