This role involves engaging automotive and manufacturing clients to develop tailored data storage and digital transformation solutions, providing technical leadership, strategic consulting, and fostering strong client relationships to drive business outcomes in the automotive industry.
Key Responsibilities
Develop end-to-end solutions and use cases for automotive manufacturing and digital services.
Manage stakeholder relationships, communicate effectively, and understand their goals and challenges.
Calculate and explain Total Cost of Ownership scenarios aligned with customer challenges.
Lead large IT projects, collaborate with sales, engineering, and product teams, and establish as a trusted advisor.
Create client collateral such as presentations, demonstrations, and proofs of concept.
Guide the sales team in positioning, shaping, and closing solutions.
Provide technical leadership and mentoring within the regional Systems Engineering organization.
Track industry trends, analyze the competitive landscape, and incorporate insights into strategy.
Promote and support a customer-first, inclusive culture within the organization.
Requirements
Experience of driving cultural change in organizations and the ability to keep up with the latest industry trends.
A senior level technical Solutions Architect or Client Technical Director with experience working with and focusing on Pure’s Strategic clients, especially in Automotive and Manufacturing sectors.
Broad and deep IT industry experience, particularly in Automotive, Tier 1 suppliers, the wider Manufacturing supply chain, and related ecosystems.
Strong technical background across infrastructure and data storage, compute, databases, networking, virtualization, and cloud-native architectures.
Solid experience with data management and storage technologies supporting mission-critical workloads in Automotive and Manufacturing.
Understanding of key manufacturing processes, outcomes, and the Automotive value chain including OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, production plants, logistics, and digital services.
Familiarity with areas such as data analytics, data science, modern IT architecture modeling, Agile and DevOps practices, automation, infrastructure as code, IT operations, and IT security.
Ability to quickly learn new platforms, tools, and architectures and translate them into simple, business-relevant language.
Experience working with large, global, or strategic accounts, ideally with German enterprise customers, and the ability to structure complex problems into clear options and recommendations.
Outstanding communication skills in German and English, with confidence in presenting to C-level, senior business leaders, and technical teams, and facilitating workshops.
High emotional intelligence, empathy, and diplomacy to build trust and foster collaborative discussions.
Strong understanding of commercial and disruptive technology trends in the Automotive and Manufacturing markets in Germany, including knowledge of major competitors and partner ecosystems.
Ability to position Pure’s differentiators for the right use cases within the Automotive and Manufacturing markets.
A growth and learning orientation, actively investing in personal development, with willingness to dedicate around 10% of time to training, certifications, and industry/community events.
Ability to develop end-to-end solutions and use cases addressing the realities of German and global Automotive Manufacturing, influencing implementation methods, technology choices, and commercial models to deliver measurable outcomes.
Ability to understand stakeholders’ drivers, challenges, goals, and expectations, and effectively communicate tailored messages face-to-face primarily within Germany and globally.
Experience in calculating Total Cost of Ownership scenarios for customers, explaining how they align with their challenges and Pure’s benefits.
Proven leadership in managing large IT projects, establishing as a thought leader and trusted advisor, and collaborating with sales, engineering, and product management teams.
Experience in creating client collateral such as presentations, papers, demonstrations, proofs of concepts, and contributing to joint offerings.
Ability to guide sales teams in positioning, shaping, and closing solutions in a competitive environment.
Technical leadership and mentoring skills for local and regional Systems Engineering teams, representing Pure at industry events and community activities.
Ability to track key trends in Automotive and Manufacturing, such as software-defined vehicles, Industry 4.0, sustainability, data AI, and connect them to Pure’s technology strategy, and to bring insights to influence product roadmaps and go-to-market strategies.
