Job Description
A Product Quality Engineer responsible for managing and improving product quality throughout the product lifecycle, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturing excellence, root cause analysis, and continuous process improvement in a high-tech data storage environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage product quality throughout the product lifecycle from new product introduction to sustaining production
- Participate in the development of new products by providing manufacturing input to optimize design for production
- Coordinate failure analysis with suppliers to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
- Improve manufacturing operations processes and establish quality standards and KPIs
- Provide technical expertise to troubleshoot failures and investigate manufacturing technologies
- Evaluate and enhance the engineering design verification process to ensure defect-free product releases
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.
- 6 years of expertise in product quality, field quality or manufacturing engineering within a high-tech operations environment.
- Deep technical knowledge of PCBA, subassembly, and system-level manufacturing and testing.
- Comprehensive understanding of core quality methodologies, including 8D, 5 Why's, Pareto Analysis, DFx, DFM, DFA, and PFMEA, with the ability to select and apply the right tool for any given challenge.
- Strong experience in product quality management and supplier management, with deep knowledge of production quality monitoring and failure analysis techniques.
- Experience working with or for a Contract Manufacturer (CM), preferred, with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience in data-driven decision-making, utilizing dashboards and analytics tools.
- Excellent project management skills with a track record of successful issue resolution.
- Work from the Houston, TX office in compliance with company policies (in-office environment).
Benefits & Perks
Salary range: 134,000 - 201,000 USD annually
