A Product Quality Engineer responsible for managing and improving product quality throughout the product lifecycle, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturing excellence, root cause analysis, and continuous process improvement in a high-tech data storage environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage product quality throughout the product lifecycle from new product introduction to sustaining production
Participate in the development of new products by providing manufacturing input to optimize design for production
Coordinate failure analysis with suppliers to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
Improve manufacturing operations processes and establish quality standards and KPIs
Provide technical expertise to troubleshoot failures and investigate manufacturing technologies
Evaluate and enhance the engineering design verification process to ensure defect-free product releases
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.
6 years of expertise in product quality, field quality or manufacturing engineering within a high-tech operations environment.
Deep technical knowledge of PCBA, subassembly, and system-level manufacturing and testing.
Comprehensive understanding of core quality methodologies, including 8D, 5 Why's, Pareto Analysis, DFx, DFM, DFA, and PFMEA, with the ability to select and apply the right tool for any given challenge.
Strong experience in product quality management and supplier management, with deep knowledge of production quality monitoring and failure analysis techniques.
Experience working with or for a Contract Manufacturer (CM), preferred, with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
Proven experience in data-driven decision-making, utilizing dashboards and analytics tools.
Excellent project management skills with a track record of successful issue resolution.
Work from the Houston, TX office in compliance with company policies (in-office environment).
