Job Description
The role involves analyzing and forecasting product performance, understanding adoption and usage patterns, and leveraging AI tools to generate insights that inform product management decisions within a data storage company's core systems portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and self-serve views to monitor product health across segments and regions
- Own analytics for specific systems products and features, tracking key KPIs such as adoption, utilization, and revenue
- Translate open-ended product questions into structured analyses and clear findings
- Partner with teams to develop and refine product-level forecasts using historical data and scenario modeling
- Conduct deep dives on low or uneven product adoption to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions
- Leverage AI tools to automate data analysis workflows, anomaly detection, and summarization of feedback
- Support design and analysis of experiments related to product features, pricing, and packaging
- Collaborate with data engineering and telemetry teams to define data standards and ensure data quality
- Act as analytics partner for product management and contribute to business reviews and portfolio analysis
Requirements
- 3 to 6 years of experience in product analytics, data analytics, or business analytics, ideally supporting product management in B2B infrastructure, cloud, or systems oriented businesses.
- Demonstrated track record of building forecasts, performance reviews, and deep dive analyses that influenced roadmap, pricing, or portfolio decisions.
- Experience working directly with Product Management and cross functional partners such as Engineering, Finance, Sales, and Operations on data driven decision making.
- Strong SQL skills comfortable working with large, complex datasets and optimizing queries for performance.
- Experience with at least one modern BI visualization tool e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar.
- Practical experience with Python or a similar language for data analysis, modeling, and building analytical workflows.
- Working familiarity with forecasting and time series analysis concepts able to build, interpret, and refine forecasts in partnership with Product Management and Finance.
- Hands-on experience using AI LLM tools in analytical work e.g., notebook copilots, NL to SQL, log and feedback summarization, internal agents automations.
- Strong business and product sense able to connect metrics and trends to real world behavior and systems product strategy.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to produce clear, concise written narratives and presentations for executives and cross functional teams.
- Bias toward action, curiosity, and structured problem solving with the ability to ask why until the root cause is clear, and then help teams decide what next.
- Experience with systems or infrastructure products such as storage, compute, VMware ecosystems, cloud platforms, or similar.
- Familiarity with product analytics platforms and event driven data models.
- Exposure to portfolio management or SKU level analytics including mix, attach, cannibalization, and lifecycle analysis.
- Experience building or integrating AI powered decision support tools for product and portfolio teams.
