Job Description

The Principal Value Architect collaborates with large enterprise customers at the executive level to demonstrate and quantify the business value of Pure Storage solutions, leading technical assessments, developing strategic proposals, and aligning technical capabilities with customer objectives to drive transformational outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical assessments with customers to quantify current pain points, requirements, and business value of future solutions.
  • Collaborate with account teams, sales leadership, and customer stakeholders to develop and present clear value propositions and business cases.
  • Define and document current and future state architectures, including infrastructure, applications, and data flows, with measurable metrics.
  • Develop and deliver implementation plans that outline timelines, benefits realization, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Partner with solution specialists and account SEs to align technical value with customer objectives and enhance technical narratives.
  • Engage with CX PS teams and customer operations to articulate how solutions will be delivered and benefits achieved.
  • Create repeatable assets illustrating current and future architectures, transformation journeys, and risk mitigation plans.
  • Act as a trusted advisor by providing technical validation, insights, and quantification of business impact to customers.

Requirements

  • 10 years of experience in value based technical sales.
  • Proven track record of working at CxO level, typically CTO level.
  • Proven expertise in consulting led client engagements on large multi-million dollar opportunities with Fortune 500 companies.
  • Experience in analyzing complex technical environments and translating findings into business value propositions.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, especially sales engineers and account teams.
  • Familiarity with tools and frameworks for ROI analysis and technical value quantification.
  • Ability to lead a multi-disciplined technical team in engagement with the customer to complete rapid iterative assessments.
  • Ability to document clearly and concisely current state pain points, metrics, and key system requirements, and to gain customer sign-off through discovery and validation workshops.
  • Ability to define and present future state architecture that resolves pain points, with clear metrics supported by SME validation, and to document and gain approval for implementation plans.
  • Ability to articulate how the solution will be delivered and when benefits will be realized, working with CX PS organization and customer operations team.
  • Ability to collaborate with Account SEs to align technical value with customer objectives and priorities.
  • Ability to evaluate existing infrastructure and operational practices to identify areas for improvement such as performance, cost reduction, and operational efficiencies.
  • Ability to demonstrate outcomes with quantifiable metrics, including performance improvements, cost reductions, and operational efficiencies.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex technical environments and translate findings into business value propositions.
  • Knowledge of storage block, file, object, cloud, database technologies, AI, and virtualization technologies.
  • Familiarity with defining operating and business metrics for application environments, data management, networking infrastructure, cloud, and on-premise solutions, including modern technologies such as containers.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop assets illustrating current and future state architectures, pain points, business requirements, and transformation journey, including risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ability to lead and negotiate agreements with senior customer sponsors such as CTOs for scope and deliverables.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering value and building long-term relationships.
