Job Description

The Principal Value Architect collaborates with large enterprise customers at the executive level to demonstrate and quantify the business value of Pure Storage solutions, leading technical assessments, developing strategic proposals, and aligning technical capabilities with business objectives to drive customer success and growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with customer teams and internal stakeholders to conduct rapid, iterative assessments of current environment, pain points, and requirements.
  • Quantify and articulate the business value and benefits of Pure Storage solutions through technical and financial metrics.
  • Lead the development of current and future state architecture, including defining transformation pathways and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Create and deliver compelling proposals, business cases, and presentation assets to CxO-level stakeholders for solution approval.
  • Partner with sales engineers, customer success teams, and solution specialists to align technical value with customer objectives and develop realistic implementation plans.
  • Evaluate customer infrastructure and operational practices to identify improvement opportunities and demonstrate outcomes such as performance gains, cost savings, and operational efficiencies.
  • Build reusable assets and frameworks that illustrate current and future architecture, transformation journey, and benefits realization timelines.
  • Establish trust and credibility with customers by providing technical validation, insights, and clear articulation of value propositions.

Requirements

  • 10 years of experience in value based technical sales.
  • Proven track record of working at CxO level, typically CTO level.
  • Proven expertise in consulting led client engagements on large multi-million dollar opportunities with Fortune 500 companies.
  • Experience in analyzing complex technical environments and translating findings into business value propositions.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, especially sales engineers and account teams.
  • Familiarity with tools and frameworks for ROI analysis and technical value quantification.
  • Ability to lead a multi-disciplined technical team in engagement with the customer to complete rapid iterative assessments.
  • Experience in defining current state architecture including cloud, applications, data flows, and infrastructure, and articulating pain points, requirements, and metrics.
  • Experience in defining future state architecture that addresses pain points, requirements, and quantifies expected benefits.
  • Ability to develop and deliver implementation plans in conjunction with CX organization that clearly articulate when and how business benefits will be realized, supported by relevant metrics.
  • Proven ability to solicit trust and lead engagements with customer senior sponsors such as CTOs.
  • Experience in documenting current and future state system requirements, pain points, and business metrics clearly and concisely.
  • Experience in negotiating scope and technical deliverables with customer leadership to ensure assessments are impactful and feasible.
  • Experience in developing assets that illustrate current and future architecture, transformation journey, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ability to articulate the technical and financial benefits of solutions with clear, measurable metrics to business stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to analyze and evaluate existing infrastructure and operational practices to identify areas for improvement such as performance, cost reduction, and operational efficiency.
  • Experience in collaborating with account SEs and CX SMEs to align technical value with customer objectives and develop realistic implementation plans.
  • Knowledge of storage (block, file, object), cloud, database, AI, and virtualization technologies.
  • Familiarity with defining and implementing application environments, database management, networking infrastructure, cloud and on-premise solutions, including modern technologies such as containers.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence both technical and business stakeholders through effective communication and storytelling.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering value and building long-term relationships.
