Job Description
The Principal Value Architect collaborates with large enterprise customers at the CxO level to identify and quantify business value delivered by Pure Storage solutions, leading technical assessments, developing strategic proposals, and ensuring the realization of measurable business benefits through innovative data storage and infrastructure strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with account teams and customer stakeholders to define and quantify business value and outcomes.
- Lead technical assessments with multidisciplinary teams to identify current pain points, requirements, and future solutions.
- Develop and present architecture and implementation plans that demonstrate how solutions deliver measurable business benefits.
- Engage with CxO-level clients to secure agreement on technical scope, metrics, and expected outcomes.
- Create and contribute to reusable assets illustrating current and future state architectures, transformation journey, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Partner with sales engineers and solution specialists to align technical value with customer objectives and craft compelling value narratives.
- Provide technical validation, insights, and storytelling to establish trust and demonstrate the strategic value of Pure Storage solutions.
- Support the development of proposals, business cases, and presentations to facilitate customer buy-in and project approval.
Requirements
- 10 years of experience in value based technical sales.
- Proven track record of working at CxO level, typically CTO level.
- Proven expertise in consulting led client engagements on large multi-million dollar opportunities with Fortune 500 companies.
- Experience in analyzing customer environments, identifying areas for improvement, and building compelling value propositions that highlight measurable benefits.
- Ability to lead a multi-disciplined technical team in engagement with the customer to complete rapid iterative assessments to quantify current state pain points, requirements, and how those will be resolved with a future state solution in terms of business value.
- Experience in delivering current state architecture that clearly articulates pain points, business requirements, and current metrics, and obtaining sign-off from the customer through discovery and validation workshops.
- Experience in defining future state architecture that clearly articulates the resolution to pain points, business requirements, and the resulting metrics, with customer sign-off through validation workshops.
- Ability to develop and deliver implementation plans in conjunction with the CX organization that clearly articulate when business benefits will be realized and the supporting metrics.
- Experience in collaborating with Account SEs to align technical insights with customer objectives and priorities.
- Ability to evaluate existing infrastructure and operational practices to identify current state architecture and areas for improvement, including performance improvements, cost reductions, and operational efficiencies.
- Ability to articulate the technical and financial benefits of Pure Storage solutions that deliver quantifiable metrics to business stakeholders.
- Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence both technical and business stakeholders.
- Familiarity with tools and frameworks for ROI analysis and technical value quantification.
- Proven ability to analyze complex technical environments and translate findings into business value propositions.
- Knowledge of storage block, file, object, cloud, database technologies, AI, and virtualization technologies.
- Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, especially sales engineers and account teams.
- Customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering value and building long-term relationships.
