Job Description
The Principal Value Architect collaborates with large enterprise customers at the executive level to demonstrate the business value of Pure Storage solutions through technical assessments, strategic planning, and compelling value propositions, ultimately driving customer success and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical teams to conduct rapid assessments of customer environments to quantify current pain points and requirements.
- Develop and present clear, quantifiable business value propositions and future state architectures that address customer pain points.
- Collaborate with account teams, sales, and customer stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives.
- Create implementation plans that outline when and how business benefits will be realized, supported by relevant metrics.
- Engage with CxO-level stakeholders to gain agreement on technical scope, business impact, and transformation plans.
- Develop reusable assets illustrating current and future architectures, transformation journeys, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Partner with solution specialists and sales engineers to strengthen technical narratives and differentiate solutions.
- Provide technical validation, insights, and data-driven metrics to support customer decision-making and build trust.
- Contribute to the development of tools and frameworks for quantifying ROI and business value of solutions.
Requirements
- 10 years of experience in value based technical sales.
- Proven track record of working at CxO level, typically CTO level.
- Proven expertise in consulting led client engagements on large multi-million dollar opportunities with Fortune 500 companies.
- Experience in analyzing complex technical environments and translating findings into business value propositions.
- Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence both technical and business stakeholders.
- Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, especially sales engineers and account teams.
- Familiarity with tools and frameworks for ROI analysis and technical value quantification.
- Ability to lead a multi-disciplined technical team in engagement with the customer to complete rapid iterative assessments.
- Experience in defining current state architecture including cloud, applications, data flows, and infrastructure, and articulating pain points, requirements, and metrics.
- Experience in defining future state architecture that resolves current pain points and articulates expected metrics and benefits.
- Ability to develop and deliver implementation plans in conjunction with CX organization, clearly articulating when business benefits will be realized and supported by metrics.
- Proven ability to solicit trust and lead engagements with customer senior sponsors such as CTOs.
- Ability to document current state pain points, metrics, and key system requirements clearly and concisely.
- Ability to document future state solutions, benefits, and quantify them into business benefits with robust metrics.
- Experience in developing assets illustrating current and future state architectures, transformation journey, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Ability to collaborate with Account SEs and CX PS SMEs to align technical value with customer objectives and develop realistic implementation plans.
- Proven experience in application environments, database management, networking infrastructure, cloud, containers, storage (block, file, object), AI, and virtualization technologies.
- Knowledge of current technology such as containers, cloud, on-premise infrastructure, and how application requirements are defined and implemented.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex technical environments and translate findings into compelling business value propositions.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, influencing both technical and business stakeholders.
- Excellent storytelling and communication skills to articulate technical and business value clearly.
- Customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering value and building long-term relationships.
