Job Description
The Principal Technologist role involves providing strategic technical leadership, driving complex customer engagements, shaping product development, and enabling field teams within the data storage industry to achieve business and technical success.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide senior technical leadership for strategic opportunities to ensure business results and technical wins.
- Develop and articulate value propositions linking technology to measurable business impact.
- Create and influence early-stage pipeline opportunities in key workloads such as AI, Analytics, Cyber Resilience, Databases, and Virtualization.
- Drive regional adoption of HQ technical initiatives and ensure customer insights shape product development.
- Champion and evangelize Pure's platform architecture, roadmap, and strategic initiatives through customer engagement and events.
- Shape Pure's product roadmap by providing customer insights, identifying market gaps, and assessing competitive implications.
- Represent Pure as a regional technical authority in industry events, customer engagements, and thought leadership content.
- Coach and enable field teams through technical clinics, deal reviews, workshops, and enablement sessions to improve technical depth and execution.
Requirements
- Expert level knowledge of IT industry trends, broad and deep IT industry experience for Korea and APJ, and a high degree of business acumen.
- Must be able to work in cross-functional teams in an autonomous manner and have a proven track record of working on and leading large IT transformation projects.
- Must have a strong understanding of data and storage technology, including modern IT architecture, applications architecture and integration, Agile application development and DevOps methods, CI/CD, automation principles, hybrid cloud architecture, infrastructure operations, IT security, and data protection.
- Ability to apply experience and confidence to take ownership of Pure s solution and create structure when needed to deal with ambiguity or no existing Pure offering with which to fulfill the customer s requirements.
- Must have a high degree of diplomacy and a strong emotional quotient.
- A customer-first mentality and focus, with a passion to improve our customer s business through Pure s unique technology and business value.
- Product experience across a broad cross-section of technology vendors and specific experience in flash storage technologies.
- Strong executive presence and ability to evangelize concepts to a wide range of personas and dispositions.
- Proficient in driving for results with a sense of accountability and ability to change pace and focus in a dynamically evolving hyper-competitive environment.
- 10 years of industry relevant vendor pre-sales, technical experience covering the Korea and APJ region.
- 7 years of business experience with relevant storage, computer applications, File Object, high performance architectures.
- Participation in technical community leadership programs such as VMware vExpert, Microsoft MVP, Cisco Champion, etc. (preferred).
- End-user technology operations or architecture role experience (preferred).
- Experience selling to large enterprise accounts in a presales technical role (preferred).
- Proficiency in English and Korean languages.
