Job Description
A Manufacturing Quality Engineer responsible for overseeing product quality and operational excellence in the production of flash storage technology, collaborating with global partners, automating quality processes, and ensuring seamless product launches.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end quality oversight and continuous improvement across manufacturing processes from PCBA SMT to final server-level production.
- Collaborate with global contract manufacturers and partners to define quality assurance procedures, conduct supplier audits, and perform root cause analysis.
- Automate manufacturing data analysis and quality monitoring using scripting (primarily Python) to create real-time dashboards and alerts.
- Support product launches by validating hardware, guiding failure analysis, and ensuring high-quality product introduction at scale.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in PCBA SMT, mechanical assembly, or server-level manufacturing, with a strong understanding of components like PCBs, PSUs, and high-density flash drive assemblies.
- Proficiency in supplier quality methods, including 8D, 5 Whys, and FMEA, and a solid understanding of IPC standards and ISO compliance.
- A proven ability to analyze complex manufacturing data and quality KPIs to inform decisions and drive continuous improvement.
- Strong cross-functional communication, documentation, and presentation skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external partners.
- Experience in leading manufacturing quality oversight and continuous improvement at all stages of the manufacturing process, from PCBA SMT and mechanical assembly to final server-level production.
- Experience in partnering with global contract manufacturers and joint-development partners to define and enforce quality assurance procedures, conduct supplier audits, and lead root cause analysis to drive performance improvements.
- Ability to leverage scripting, primarily Python, to automate QA tasks, create real-time quality dashboards and alerts, and accelerate failure triage and resolution.
- Experience collaborating with Hardware Design and Supply Chain teams to validate new product hardware, guide failure analysis on early issues, and ensure seamless, high-quality product introductions at scale.
- Willingness to work onsite at the Santa Clara, CA office in accordance with company policies.
