A Manufacturing Quality Engineer responsible for overseeing and improving quality processes across the production of cloud storage hardware, collaborating with partners, automating data analysis, and ensuring product reliability from design to mass production.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee quality assurance throughout the manufacturing process from PCBA SMT to final server-level production
Partner with contract manufacturers and development partners to define quality procedures, conduct audits, and perform root cause analysis
Automate manufacturing data feeds and create real-time quality dashboards and alerts using scripting tools like Python
Collaborate with hardware design and supply chain teams to validate new product hardware and ensure high-quality product launches
Requirements
Understanding of PCBA SMT, mechanical assembly, or server-level manufacturing, with a grasp of components like PCBs, PSUs, and high-density flash drive assemblies.
Proficiency in supplier quality methods, including 8D, 5 Whys, and FMEA, and a solid understanding of IPC standards and ISO compliance.
Ability to analyze complex manufacturing data and quality KPIs to inform decisions and drive continuous improvement.
Strong communication, documentation, and presentation skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external partners.
Experience in manufacturing quality oversight and continuous improvement at all stages of the manufacturing process, from PCBA SMT and mechanical assembly to final server-level production.
Experience partnering with contract manufacturers and joint-development partners to define and enforce quality assurance procedures, conduct supplier audits, and perform root cause analysis to drive performance improvements.
Ability to own the integrity of manufacturing data feeds to create real-time quality dashboards and alerts, using scripting primarily in Python to automate QA tasks and accelerate failure triage and resolution.
Experience collaborating with Hardware Design and Supply Chain teams to validate new product hardware, guide failure analysis on early issues, and ensure seamless, high-quality product introductions at scale.
Physical presence and ability to work onsite at the Santa Clara, CA office in compliance with company policies, unless on PTO, work travel, or other approved leave.
