Job Description

The role involves leading and managing a team of Partner Technical Managers in Japan, serving as a technical advisor and strategic partner to key channel partners, and driving technical enablement, sales support, and business growth within the data storage and infrastructure industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and mentor the Japan PTM team to achieve performance and growth targets.
  • Manage and guide the Partner Portal Content Manager and Technical Enablement personnel.
  • Develop and execute an annual operating plan for the PTM team to meet business objectives.
  • Act as PTM for strategic partners, driving technical enablement, sales support, and business growth.
  • Build trusted relationships with partner executives, technical leaders, and sales teams.
  • Design and implement technical and sales enablement programs to promote partner autonomy.
  • Represent Pure Storage at partner events, marketing initiatives, and industry forums.
  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, partner account managers, and channel leadership to develop partner strategies.
  • Support partner-led sales opportunities throughout the sales cycle.
  • Monitor and report on partner technical enablement progress and business impact.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated leadership with proven ability to grow and mentor technical teams.
  • Experience in managing and guiding a team, including roles such as team lead, coach, or mentor, with a focus on driving performance and growth in line with organizational KPIs.
  • Ability to manage and guide personnel responsible for partner portal content, training initiatives, and enablement goals.
  • Experience in building and executing an annual operating plan to achieve measurable business outcomes.
  • Ability to foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation within a team.
  • Experience acting as the primary technical point of contact for a select group of strategic partners, including driving technical enablement, sales support, and long-term business growth.
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with partner executives, technical leaders, and sales teams.
  • Experience delivering presentations, workshops, and training to elevate partner independence and technical capabilities.
  • Design and execution of technical and sales enablement programs to drive partner autonomy in positioning and selling solutions such as FlashArray, FlashBlade, Portworx, etc.
  • Representation of the company at partner events, marketing initiatives, and industry forums as a subject matter expert in modern infrastructure, AI ML, and DevOps.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work closely with Sales, Systems Engineering, Partner Account Managers, and Channel leadership to create and execute partner strategies.
  • Experience supporting partner-led opportunities throughout the sales cycle, including discovery, evaluation, and closing.
  • Monitoring and reporting on partner technical enablement progress and business impact, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Technical expertise across storage, compute, networking, databases, virtualization, and emerging areas like AI ML and cloud-native applications.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Japanese and English.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a global, diverse, and fast-paced environment.
