The role involves supporting sales by providing technical expertise in enterprise storage solutions, guiding customers through technical evaluations, creating tailored solutions, and contributing to sales strategies in a dynamic, customer-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with sales to guide customers through data and infrastructure challenges
Understand customer business drivers and decision-making processes
Highlight the advantages of Pure Storage solutions to customers
Develop and deliver technical product and architecture presentations
Conduct evaluations, benchmarks, proof of concepts, and system configurations
Translate customer requirements into innovative storage solutions
Respond to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs with technical proposals
Identify and pursue new opportunities for interoperability and testing
Collaborate with marketing to produce technical materials and thought leadership content
Stay current with industry trends, competition, and emerging technologies
Requirements
Pre-sales experience supporting the sales of enterprise storage, networking, or systems solutions to a combination of large enterprise accounts and data centers, with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
Deep understanding of the architecture, design, and implementation of multi-tiered client-server and web-based computing solutions.
Prior experience in targeting new prospects and converting them into clients.
Experience in contributing significant portions and/or leading responses to Private and Public Sector RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs, including PaP responses.
Superior knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures including FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN, UNIX OS, NFS file systems, and UNIX distributed network environment.
Experience with installation and configuration of distributed computing, multiprocessing, virtual memory subsystems, storage subsystems architecture, shared memory architectures, cache architectures, and windowing systems.
Strong knowledge of digital transformation to Cloud Native architecture, On-Premises, Public Cloud, Provisioning Automation, and Containers.
Knowledge of VMWare, Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general networking concepts.
Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills in English.
Familiarity with modern web architecture such as LAMP stack, scale-out vs scale-up architectures, and NoSQL alternatives.
Application knowledge relevant to storage solutions is highly desirable.
Channel partner customer training and enablement experience is desirable.
