Job Description
This role involves leading the design, deployment, and management of large-scale Kubernetes, KubeVirt, and OpenStack platforms, focusing on infrastructure automation, reliability, and observability to support innovative data storage solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain large-scale Kubernetes and KubeVirt clusters on bare metal infrastructure
- Automate infrastructure lifecycle management using CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Ansible and Terraform
- Manage and troubleshoot core OpenStack services such as Nova, Neutron, and Cinder for efficiency and stability
- Implement and refine monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Fluentd
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate applications onto the platform and optimize resource utilization
Requirements
- Deep expertise in designing, deploying, and managing large, production-grade Kubernetes environments, with significant, hands-on experience running and tuning clusters on bare metal infrastructure.
- Strong foundational knowledge and practical experience managing and troubleshooting key OpenStack services including Keystone, Nova, Neutron, and Cinder in a highly available production setting.
- Proficiency in developing Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using tools like Ansible or Terraform to fully automate the provisioning, configuration, security hardening, and day-2 operations of OpenStack and Kubernetes environments.
- Expert-level skills in Linux administration.
- Deep understanding of container and platform networking concepts such as CNI plugins like Cilium, Load Balancing, and Network Policies.
- Familiarity with storage provisioning and management including Persistent Volumes and Cinder.
- Experience implementing, configuring, and utilizing observability stacks such as Prometheus and Grafana to analyze, debug, and resolve complex platform issues at scale.
- Ability to automate infrastructure lifecycle processes including deployment, configuration, security hardening, and maintenance of OpenStack and Kubernetes environments.
- Ability to collaborate with diverse engineering teams to integrate applications onto the platform, providing guidance on workload optimization, resource utilization, and platform best practices.
- Willingness to work from the Santa Clara, CA office in an primarily in-office environment, in compliance with company policies.
