The Hardware Validation Engineer at Pure Storage is responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of high-performance storage systems through comprehensive validation, automation, and hardware troubleshooting, primarily focusing on x86-based enterprise storage platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Design and execute validation strategies for x86-based storage platforms from initial design through manufacturing and support.
Develop and enhance Python-based automation frameworks for test execution and result reporting.
Perform failure analysis and root-cause investigation on hardware issues to develop engineering fixes.
Conduct qualification tests on new components to ensure supply chain resilience and system performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and partners to resolve hardware field issues and ensure hardware integrity.
Requirements
Comprehensive understanding of x86 architectures, hardware design principles, and enterprise-grade server storage interfaces.
High proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash to automate hardware configurations and complex test development within Linux environments.
A structured, data-driven approach to troubleshooting, with the ability to distill large datasets from stress workloads into clear technical insights.
Extensive experience planning and implementing hardware qualification processes, specifically including Ethernet networking and high-speed signal validation.
Self-motivated mindset with the communication skills necessary to lead vendor partnerships and drive technical issues to closure in a fast-paced development environment.
