The role involves leading and managing a sales team in the data storage industry, focusing on recruiting, developing, and achieving sales targets through strategic planning, relationship building, and performance management.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and inspire a team of Commercial Account Executives and ensure alignment with company values
Recruit, develop, and manage performance of sales team members and extended sales resources
Manage sales pipeline, forecast accuracy, and achieve sales targets including bookings and new logo acquisition
Build and maintain strong relationships with channel partners, clients, and internal teams
Drive sales activities, support key sales presentations, and coordinate resources to close deals
Conduct regular performance reviews, analyze sales data, and implement strategies to meet or exceed quotas
Travel extensively for client meetings, team management, and business development
Requirements
8 years successful field sales management experience in storage or core Information Technology infrastructure in a highly competitive environment.
Experience selling to IT departments and IT management.
Proven track record of recruitment and associate development.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Strong written communication skills and ability to clearly and effectively articulate Pure Storage's value.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and use good judgment in identifying root causality and problem solving.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to coordinate Pure Storage resources to execute a complex sales strategy.
Experience with CRM and other online tools.
Ability to build and lead a team of focused account executives, including recruiting, developing, and performance management.
Ability to establish and maintain strong business relationships at the executive level with channel partners, account executives, and leadership teams.
Ability to support key sales presentations and provide strategic direction to the sales team.
Ability to deliver business results including annual bookings, new logo production, and meeting or exceeding quotas.
Willingness to travel extensively for field activities.
Living in or willing to relocate to the Bay Area (preferred).
