Job Description

The role involves leading and managing a sales team in the data storage industry, focusing on driving sales growth, building strong customer and channel partner relationships, and achieving business targets through strategic planning and team development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire a team of Commercial Account Executives and ensure alignment with company values.
  • Recruit, develop, and manage the performance of account executives and related sales roles.
  • Manage territory planning, forecasting, and pipeline development to meet sales targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with channel partners and executive-level clients.
  • Drive sales activities, support key sales presentations, and coordinate resources to close business.
  • Achieve business results including bookings, new logo acquisition, and team quota attainment.
  • Monitor and review team performance, pipeline health, and activity metrics regularly.
  • Utilize CRM and other tools to manage sales processes and track progress.

Requirements

  • 8 years successful field sales management experience in storage or core Information Technology infrastructure in a highly competitive environment.
  • Experience selling to IT departments and IT management is required.
  • Proven track record of recruitment and associate development.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Strong written communication skills and ability to clearly and effectively articulate Pure Storage s value.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and use good judgment in identifying root causality and problem solving.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to coordinate Pure Storage resources to execute a complex sales strategy.
  • Ability to use CRM and other online tools effectively.
  • Must be organized, detail and process oriented.
  • Ability to lead and inspire a team of Commercial Account Executives, including hiring additional Account Executives as needed.
  • Ability to provide leadership to the extended Pure Storage team aligned to your district SEs, Channel Managers, Inside Sales reps, etc.
  • Ability to closely manage and enable team performance related to KPIs including pipeline growth, partner team alignment, forecast accuracy, POC management.
  • Maintain a 4X pipeline to goal at all times.
  • Deliver business results including annual bookings goal, new logo production, and AE participation at or above goal.
  • Significant field travel expected.
  • Living in the Bay Area (or willing to relocate to the Bay Area).
