Job Description
This role involves providing technical leadership and support in enterprise storage solutions, developing customer-centric strategies, and driving sales through technical expertise in storage architectures, cloud integration, and innovative technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and support as a role model and mentor for Systems Engineers
- Develop an understanding of customer business drivers and motivations
- Create social media content such as blogs and posts
- Connect technology solutions to measurable customer business outcomes
- Collaborate with account teams to enhance customer experience and drive revenue
- Refine sales strategies and take technical responsibility for storage products and architectures
- Conduct presentations, solution demonstrations, and participate in executive briefings
- Translate customer needs into innovative storage solutions to support growth
- Lead or contribute to responses for RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs
- Identify and promote opportunities for interoperability, testing, and validation
- Produce marketing materials and stay current with industry trends and competitors
- Serve as a solution expert in complex proof-of-concept and total cost of ownership calculations
Requirements
- BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or other technical degree and/or equivalent experience
- Pre-sales experience is required
- 8 or more years of relevant experience in technology, design, and communications
- Experience supporting the sales of enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software to enterprise accounts
- Deep understanding of the architecture, design, and implementation of multi-tiered client-server and web-based computing solutions
- Familiarity with modern web architecture such as LAMP stack, scale-out vs scale-up architectures, AWS well-architected framework, microservices architecture (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures including FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN
- Knowledge of digital transformation to Cloud Native architecture, On-Premises, Public Cloud, Provisioning Automation, and Containers
- Previous experience with Linux, NFS file systems, Linux distributed network environment, installation and configuration of distributed computing, multiprocessing, virtual memory subsystem, storage subsystems architecture, shared memory architectures, cache architectures, windowing systems
- Knowledge of VMware, Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general networking
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP (preferred)
- Ability to support and lead responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs
- Strong technical leadership and support skills, including acting as a role model and mentor for other Systems Engineers
- Ability to connect technology solutions, including the Pure Storage portfolio and others from the ecosystem, to measurable customer business outcomes
- Ability to develop an exhaustive understanding of customer’s business drivers and decision-making processes
- Ability to translate customer business needs into innovative solutions to accelerate growth and capacity
- Experience supporting the sales of enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software to enterprise accounts (preferred)
- Excellent communication skills for presentations, solution demonstrations, and engaging in executive business reviews (EBC)
- Ability to contribute significantly or lead responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs
- Strong knowledge of digital transformation concepts including Cloud Native architecture, provisioning automation, and containers
- Ability to stay current with competition and market trends, ensuring solution positioning is differentiated and up-to-date
- Ability to perform complex POC and TCO calculations as a solution expert
