Job Description
This role involves designing, deploying, and managing large-scale bare-metal Kubernetes environments, ensuring high performance, security, and reliability to support innovative data storage products.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deploy large-scale bare-metal Kubernetes clusters with integrated high-performance storage solutions.
- Implement and manage advanced cluster networking, including Cilium, BGP, and load balancing across multiple sites.
- Develop and maintain automated, self-healing workflows using GitOps tools like ArgoCD and CI/CD pipelines for cluster management.
- Ensure platform reliability and security by defining SLIs/SLOs, building observability stacks, and enforcing security protocols.
- Collaborate with teams to onboard complex workloads and provide technical mentorship and design reviews.
Requirements
- Proven track record of managing production Kubernetes clusters on bare-metal infrastructure with deep technical command of Kubernetes internals including API server, etcd, scheduler, and managing large-scale clusters.
- Experience designing and deploying large-scale bare-metal clusters, integrating control planes with Portworx and Pure Storage arrays to deliver high-performance persistent storage.
- Proficiency in driving Infrastructure as Code using tools like Ansible or Terraform, and the ability to build custom tooling or integrations in Go or Python.
- Expert-level knowledge of Linux systems administration and container networking, including hands-on experience with CNI plugins, BGP, and spine-leaf architectures.
- Experience building comprehensive monitoring and logging frameworks such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK, with a commitment to root-cause analysis and incident prevention.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical designs and communicate those strategies effectively to stakeholders and peers.
- Work from the Santa Clara, CA office in compliance with company policies, unless on PTO, work travel, or other approved leave.
