The Central Texas Field Manager will oversee the operations and maintenance of energy storage sites, ensuring safety, performance, and regulatory compliance while managing third-party contractors and supporting site reliability and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Manage on-ground operations and maintenance of energy storage sites.
Ensure safety and electrical compliance through inspections and audits.
Coordinate maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting activities with field teams and vendors.
Support and oversee preventative and corrective maintenance scheduling and execution.
Monitor site performance, identify issues, and report critical problems to maximize uptime and ensure contractual compliance.
Maintain accurate records for regulatory compliance and warranty claims.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners on outage planning and site activities.
Ensure site safety protocols are followed and align with environmental and weatherization guidelines.
Manage third-party service providers and oversee warranty work and repairs.
Travel to sites as needed for supervision, inspections, and support during outages.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a related area of study or five years of experience in lieu of a degree.
Minimum of two years direct experience in BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) and/or Solar site operations preferred.
Sound knowledge of safe industrial work practices and a commitment to ensuring site safety.
Ability to communicate professionally with management, contractors, landowners, and others.
Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Electrical, Inverter, and BESS certifications or licenses are preferred.
HV electrical certification or experience is preferred.
Ability to read and understand electrical mechanical schematics and drawings.
Experience running and managing teams of personnel both locally and remotely.
Flexible work hours and travel to remote areas required.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to lift 30 pounds and comfortable working from a ladder.
Ability to walk long distances for site inspections.
Able to use forklifts and other small, motorized equipment.
Comfortable working outside in various weather conditions.
Able to respond in person to their site in a reasonable period of time.
Travel up to 60% for in-field work, onsite supervision, or to support other Field Managers during planned or forced outages.
Ideally located between Austin and San Antonio or near Midland, Texas.
