Job Description
The Central Texas Field Manager will oversee the operations and maintenance of energy storage sites, ensuring safety, performance, and regulatory compliance while managing third-party contractors and supporting site reliability and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage on-ground operations and maintenance of energy storage sites.
- Ensure safety and electrical compliance through inspections and audits.
- Coordinate maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting activities with field teams and vendors.
- Support and oversee preventative and corrective maintenance scheduling and execution.
- Monitor site performance, identify issues, and report critical problems to maximize uptime and ensure contractual compliance.
- Maintain accurate records for regulatory compliance and warranty claims.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners on outage planning and site activities.
- Ensure site safety protocols are followed and align with environmental and weatherization guidelines.
- Manage third-party service providers and oversee warranty work and repairs.
- Travel to sites as needed for supervision, inspections, and support during outages.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related area of study or five years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum of two years direct experience in BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) and/or Solar site operations preferred.
- Sound knowledge of safe industrial work practices and a commitment to ensuring site safety.
- Ability to communicate professionally with management, contractors, landowners, and others.
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Electrical, Inverter, and BESS certifications or licenses are preferred.
- HV electrical certification or experience is preferred.
- Ability to read and understand electrical mechanical schematics and drawings.
- Experience running and managing teams of personnel both locally and remotely.
- Flexible work hours and travel to remote areas required.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift 30 pounds and comfortable working from a ladder.
- Ability to walk long distances for site inspections.
- Able to use forklifts and other small, motorized equipment.
- Comfortable working outside in various weather conditions.
- Able to respond in person to their site in a reasonable period of time.
- Travel up to 60% for in-field work, onsite supervision, or to support other Field Managers during planned or forced outages.
- Ideally located between Austin and San Antonio or near Midland, Texas.
