Job Description

The Senior Spacecraft Systems Engineer will lead the development, verification, and testing of next-generation satellite platforms for Earth observation, coordinating multidisciplinary teams to ensure the satellites meet technical and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead development, verification, and testing of next-generation satellite platforms
  • Guide requirements formulation, design, integration, and validation of satellite systems
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams across Mechanical, Thermal, GNC, Propulsion, Electrical, and Manufacturing domains
  • Develop and execute validation and verification plans, including environmental and functional testing
  • Participate in assembly, integration, and testing of satellite systems, troubleshooting issues and implementing lessons learned
  • Collaborate with mission operations and data teams to ensure satellite systems meet customer needs

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in the design and development of satellite systems
  • Understanding of one or multiple satellite subsystems, including Mechanical, Thermal, ADSCS GNC, Propulsion, or Electrical
  • Familiarity with requirements formulation, validation, and verification best practices
  • Experience with vehicle testing, including both functional and environmental testing
  • Experience collaborating with technical teams
  • Excellent communication skills for exchanges with vendors, contractors, and customers
  • Must be able to work in a hybrid position requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in the San Francisco HQ
  • This position requires access to export-controlled information, and employment or hiring of a contractor is contingent upon the candidate's ability to access all applicable export-controlled information without additional export licensing being required by the Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls
