Job Description
The Mission Operations Training Specialist is responsible for designing and delivering technical training programs to support Planet's satellite constellation services, ensuring customers are equipped to operate and optimize satellite and ground operations effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and manage customer training programs related to satellite operations, ground operations, and collection planning.
- Create and deliver engaging training content, assessments, and onboarding materials for internal teams and customers.
- Maintain and optimize training systems and assets for accuracy and efficiency.
- Identify training needs through data analysis and cross-functional collaboration.
- Monitor and improve the effectiveness of training programs.
- Support enhancements to company products and business practices through training initiatives.
- Partner with leadership on strategic training and assessment planning.
Requirements
- Six years of dedicated experience in customer training or a closely related technical capacity, preferably within a Space or a related industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
- Expertise in driving adoption and strategic use of a comprehensive tech stack, including Jira, Confluence, Python, and learning management systems, ideally Skilljar.
- Experience in the technical development and deployment of software simulation back-end systems.
- Cross-functional project or program management experience.
- Ability to develop and deliver engaging training, including classroom instruction.
- Familiarity and working knowledge of Instructional Design and design authoring tools such as Rise.
- Access to export-controlled information, with the ability to do so without requiring additional export licensing, as employment or hiring is contingent upon this ability.
