Job Description
The Project Developer is responsible for supporting solar project development through site diligence, land lease negotiations, permitting, managing contractors, and public outreach, ultimately guiding projects through financial closing and contributing to renewable energy growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site diligence and assess solar sites for development issues
- Create and secure land lease amendments with landowners
- Develop permitting documents and support permit acquisition
- Lead project development tasks for assigned projects
- Manage third-party contractors involved in project development
- Prepare and execute land use permits
- Plan and organize public outreach efforts
- Represent the company at land use hearings
- Coordinate multiple project development activities to ensure timely progress
Requirements
- Support ongoing site development efforts, assess solar sites for critical issues related to project development, and create and secure land lease amendments with landowners for solar development.
- Create permitting documents and support, and lead project development tasks for assigned projects.
- Manage third-party contractors involved in project development activities.
- Prepare and execute land use permits required for solar project development.
- Plan and organize public outreach activities related to solar project development.
- Represent Pivot at land use hearings as part of the project development process.
- Have the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and effectively communicate internally and externally to manage many moving pieces involved in developing solar projects through to financial closing.
