Job Description
This role involves leading strategic account development within the Data Center sector, focusing on building relationships, creating strategic plans, managing projects, and driving revenue growth through cross-functional team leadership and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives for assigned Data Center accounts to increase revenue, profitability, and market share.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across management, procurement, operations, quality assurance, engineering, sales, and estimating departments.
- Lead cross-functional teams to support account growth, project transitions, and customer service improvements.
- Conduct business reviews, monitor competitive activity, and identify areas for improvement within assigned accounts.
- Create and present proposals and presentations to customers, coordinating with internal teams and resources.
- Manage price negotiations and communicate pricing strategies with subsidiary teams and channel partners.
- Utilize CRM tools for customer planning, opportunity tracking, and reporting.
- Drive the use of sales tools and industry involvement to support market development.
- Demonstrate technical expertise in products and solutions relevant to assigned accounts.
- Coordinate with channel partners and marketing to execute national account strategies and promote solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience in a technical discipline.
- 5 years of proven success in Industrial Controls and Automation Sales required.
- Experience with Data Center, systems design, components, construction, commissioning, or service required.
- Experience in working with global and high-profile accounts preferred.
- Proficiency in R3 BASE selling skills and the ability to build mutually beneficial customer relationships.
- Demonstrated competence in establishing and leading cross-functional teams.
- Excellent networking, interpersonal, and influencing skills needed to communicate at all levels.
- Successful history in achieving strategic and sales targets.
- Experience managing sales through distribution channels is a plus.
- Must be able to travel via airplane and have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to operate an automobile for up to six hours at a time.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs (samples, demos, literature).
- Must be able to travel overnight 35% or as required by customer location.
- Some international travel required, valid passport needed.
- Must comply with company dress code guidelines.
- Must have regular and on-time attendance.
- Must be able to work in an environment that requires physical demands such as lifting 50 lbs and travel.
