The Strategic Account Manager is responsible for driving sales and developing strategic relationships with key accounts in the Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennessee regions by combining technical knowledge with sales and interpersonal skills to grow revenue and market share for Phoenix Contact products.
Key Responsibilities
Drive sales of Phoenix Contact products by developing strategic account plans and expanding customer relationships
Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams to support strategic accounts and improve customer service
Develop and implement strategic roadmaps and initiatives to increase account share, revenue, and profitability
Build and maintain relationships with management, procurement, engineering, and other key stakeholders
Conduct business reviews, monitor competitive activity, and recommend improvements
Prepare proposals, presentations, and sales materials; support product demonstrations and technical solutions
Utilize CRM systems for tracking, reporting, and managing customer interactions and sales activities
Qualify opportunities, follow up on quotations, and provide sales forecasts and performance reports
Requirements
A four-year degree in a technical discipline preferred and/or equivalent experience.
A minimum of 5 years of sales experience in the electronics or industrial automation controls marketplace.
Experience working with distribution is preferred.
Excellent networking and influencing skills needed to communicate at all levels.
Exhibits high-level interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Successful history in achieving strategic and sales targets.
Self-motivated with the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
Must be able to travel via airplane.
Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel via automobile for up to six hours at a time.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Must be able to travel overnight 20-25 nights as dictated by the assigned territory.
